I teach technology in an underpriveliged school district - one that has been hit hard by the opioid epidemic. Many of my students have never touched a computer before. I not only teach computer basics to these kids, I also help get them excited about technology while providing a bright, happy, safe space for them to learn and grow.
I have asked for technology books to build a tech library that will be used to introduce and reinforce tech skills. I have also asked for some sit-upons that will provide comfy seating for my kids - I do have an area rug but there is only seating for about 12-15 students and my class size is generally 30.
Additionally, I requested some wireless headphones and mice. Many times, my kids get tangled up in a mess of wires so it is my goal to eventually go completely wireless in my lab. I have actually had kindergarteners get up too quickly from the computers and get tangled in wires - thus pulling the entire computer to the ground! Hopefully, wireless headphones and mice will help.
Thank you so much for considering my request. I truly appreciate you.
