Having an extra computer for students in my counseling office allows for students to continue working, even if they need a safe space to calm down or be out of the classroom for whatever reason. A beanbag chair makes it a comfortable space for students to feel "at home" and relaxed when talking about tough issues. Similarly, games like Jenga can be transformed into counseling related games in order to break down walls and get students talking, oftentimes about tough issues. Group counseling is a great way for teens to work through common issues, and the girls group guide will help provide resources and structure to provide social and emotional support for students who need it. Overall, these items will help support a counseling program trying to meet the needs of students so that they feel cared for and supported academically and emotionally.
