Our students have online workbooks that they must complete in order to receive credit for the course. Right now, our students must compete with students in other classes to have time in the computer lab. Often, multi-day projects are put on hold because other classes are state tested and take precedence over my literacy course. If I were to be able to provide a computer to each student in my classroom, we could not only complete the requirements of the course, but we could also integrate many online activities that would help them learn. Ultimately, our rural school needs computers so that our students can compete with schools in other areas.
