In order to meet the needs of my gifted students, I would like to provide them with some ways to move and direct their energy in order to promote more active engagement in the learning process. I believe that a classroom should be a safe and healthy learning environment at all times, and providing students with choices is an important part of that. Students with kinesthetic needs, desire the freedom to wiggle when they're tired, excited, and escape to complete their assignment in a comfortable space. I plan to use the 6 exercise ball chairs and four wobble chairs available at all times to promote collaboration, communication and engage in critical thinking.
Many teachers who have made the transition to flexible seating have noticed some powerful results: their students' grades have improved, students seem happier and more engaged, and are participating more and having more invigorating conversations.
