Learning about electromagnetism is better when it is hands-on so we are using the DIY electric generator to show how we make electricity from magnets as well as using the magnets and copper pipe to demonstrate other cool applications of electromagnetism. We are also creating "Mars Landers" using straws, rubber bands, and dixie cups. Their "Lander" will help them learn how to decrease impact during a collision. Finally, I want to create a better classroom culture by posting educational and inspirational posters on the walls.
These donations will help my students learn hands-on by actually doing the science instead of just learning principles and seeing pictures, and the posters will be one of many things I am doing to create a safe learning environment.
