I have seen such a difference in learning since implementing flexible seating. It is beneficial to kindergarteners (and all other ages, really) in so many different ways.
Beginning to understand themselves as learners is key to students' ability to focus and get the most out of their educational experiences. Flexible seating allows children to experiment and find out what works for them and what doesn't. It greatly increases social interaction and collaboration through flexibility in grouping (or independence). It gives students a sense of ownership and teaches decision-making skills when they are not told exactly where or how to sit.
New friendships, increased self-monitoring, and a sense of pride are just a few of the reasons I want to be able to continue to provide more options for seating in our classroom. By donating to this project, you are helping support these important aspects of learning. Thank you so much!
