During a two-day Professional Development Conference, I will have the opportunity of a life time as I attend the Get Your Teach On experience since it is finally making it to New England in October! This experience will allow me to continue to grow as an educator as I engage in rigorous learning that I can bring to my classroom as well as learn from the most current research based strategies that will encourage my students and create life long learners.
There is no better time like the present than for educators to come together to share our knowledge and support each other! Teaching in the inner city, I find it imperative to challenge my students to think as innovators and engineers. This professional development will focus on just that with sessions titled 'STEAM MANIA' and 'The Magic of Rigor', I will be able to take these workshops and instantly incorporate them within my fourth grade classroom.
Not only will my students benefit from this conference but the wealth of knowledge that I gain will be brought to Quinnipiac and and shared with my colleagues. I cannot wait to Get My Teach On! It is going to be an amazing experience.
