There are 27 students (around 10 different countries from four continents) in my classroom and it represents a wide variety of individuals with different social and economic backgrounds. Twenty two students receive free lunch every day. All of my students are ESL (English as a Second Language)students. One third of the classroom are newcomers. My school can not provide the funds for the overhead projector due to the budget cut across the board. The basal reading/language arts program we use in our school covers a wide range of subject areas from reading, language arts, and math to social studies, science, health, and art. The program is fully equipped with beautiful transparencies that we can not use since we do not have an overhead projector.
