I feel it is important for my students to think deeply and develop explorers’ mindsets because sometimes I feel that the world has given up on my students. I want my students to explore and have hope, and I want them to be excited about learning and excited about teaching their families about what they have learned in school.
I believe it is important for my students to learn about the world around them, I teach all subjects because the world around them sometimes scares them. They need guidance for reading and writing. They need assistance because some of them are the only ones that can read and speak in Spanish/English and other dialects. They need to feel that they have hope and can conquer the tasks through a growth mindset, listening, and reasoning.
I also believe in the benefits of incorporating reading books in Spanish into my curriculum; it provides my students a voice, it lets them ask questions in a safe place, and I attempt to teach them how to think or resolve issues through thinking for themselves. I believe that if they see how to ask, visualize, and act, they will change their present and their future.
