Students love reading and hearing stories about a variety of genres. In the books that I have selected all readers will have the chance to experience literature that reflects an assortment of reading literature and in many cases, individuals from various backgrounds. All students should have the opportunity to feel successful in reading and by empowering them with access to a variety of texts I hope to instill a love of reading in each student I am fortunate enough to have in my classroom family this year. Students will have the opportunity to listen to these books being read to them, read these books on their own, and discuss them with others in class. The books I selected provide visuals so that students can increase their vocabulary about the world. I know I have picked an amazing book when students want to hear it again or take it to their seats to read with a friend.
