A maker space in a classroom is an area where children go to think, build, explore, and engage. They are sometimes given challenges to complete and other times, they let their minds guide them to a new creation. This year, I want to give my second graders a personal "maker space" where they can safely work with their own materials to do what kids do best---play! While catering to their unique multiple intelligences, students will be able to think outside the box and have time each day to build. Their individual kits will be full of engineering and craft materials to engage their critical thinking skills.
These personalized maker kits will allow my 2nd graders to discover new passions, while promoting a healthy growth mindset.
These bins can also be taken home to create and build if we do move to distance learning.
