Please help me to provide my students with opportunities to extend beyond their outdated and over worn textbooks. We have a small budget, one chromebook cart to share among nearly 20 classrooms, no computer labs, and very few reliable resources that can help my students have learning opportunities outside the four walls of my classroom. The struggle is real, and to say that it feels like we have gone back in time to the days when classrooms featured overhead projectors and worksheets, worksheets, worksheets, would be an understatement.
These books will allow my student a small escape from the drill and kill that so often accompanies classrooms restricted by finances and crippled by lack of resources. As an added benefit, our book study will help us all to bond over a shared enrichment experience.
