The Chromebooks I requested will enable my students to become more independent learners. These Chromebooks will also enhance their ability to become comfortable and confident when using technology. They will further serve as a supplement to our reading program. As our world changes, technology continues to change so it is important that we prepare our students for those changes.
The ability of my students to engage in research skills is part of my curriculum in second grade. These Chromebooks will enable me to individualize my students' learning as they research topics that are of interest to them. The vast amount of information online will assist us in our exploration of topics that are related to our curriculum. Our county has purchased a new reading series that has a substantial technology component that students can access if they have the technology to do it. This technology will allow them to practice skills and strategies that will improve their reading ability and encourage comprehension.
