Our project aims to provide students with the equipment necessary to promote self-care, sensory, gross, and fine motor development. Many of our children face physical and mental barriers that impact their success in school. By promoting development in a variety of areas, the students will increase their independence and confidence in the classroom and beyond.
Our goal is to create an environment separate from our treatment space that will benefit all children in our school. Children of all abilities can become overwhelmed during certain times of the school day, such as lunch or taking a test, and would benefit from a calming space they can utilize throughout the day. We hope to create a space that is welcoming and sensory friendly to help them regulate their energy levels to allow them to engage and participate to their full potential.
About my class
