Students with unique needs require unique supports to meet all of their diverse learning, physical, emotional, and sensory needs. As teachers, we are always trying to accommodate all learning styles, with visuals, audio, dance, and movement, as well as environmental accommodations.
Help us provide alternate means of support for students who find alternate response options to learning and their environment.
The visual supports, such as pocket charts help to draw their attention and focus. With laminate sheets, we can create PECS-like icons ("Picture Exchange Communication System") for individual schedules, token boards, and other evidence-based visual support systems. The yoga balls could double as flexible seating as well as a sensory break for vestibular input. The theraputty is wonderful for fine motor activities and as something for our friends with busy hands.
By donating to our project, you will help improve and increase student attention and help meet the sensory needs of students with challenging disabilities. With your help, we may achieve improved learning and engagement through stronger visuals, manipulatives and materials; and through flexible seating and other environmental supports. Thank you for your consideration and support!
