This equipment will bring excitement into my classroom with hands-on investigations. These engaging activities explore various mathematical concepts such as projectile motion, vectors, data analysis, statistics, problem solving, real numbers, measurement, algebra, and probability. STEM opportunities allow my students to think like scientists and give them a chance to design and test all while applying the knowledge that they have learned in physics class. It is expected that students will collect data, explore relationships using multiple representations, create equations, and make predictions. Engagement and understanding increase when students are allowed to experiment and explore various relationships. Often the students who are struggling in algebra class discover a new approach to understanding the math concepts when they are allowed to explore and problem solve with hands-on activities. The mousetrap car kits, projectile launcher, and pendulums will allow my students to have an opportunity to apply multiple topics from physics class in a hands-on activity. They will be able to apply knowledge about speed, force, energy, and momentum.
