Classroom community is the number one priority in my class. Each morning, students gather at our classroom rug for a sharing time. Many other times we come together in our gathering place for mini lessons and read alouds. When we are in our gathering space, it becomes a safe place for all. Students are more attentive and more likely to share their thoughts. The dots on this rug will help students know where to sit and the edges serve as a defined space for them to sit. A classroom rug takes an ordinary classroom and makes it happy and welcoming!
