More than anything, this year I want to focus on helping my students love reading. To do that, I am making more time and space for free choice reading.
However, I still need a classroom library that better reflects who my students are, where they come from, and their life experiences. While I have lots of copies of canonical texts, I specifically need more books written in the past 10-20 years by American authors of color, that can appeal to students of all reading levels. I'm looking for young adult books from a wide variety of genres that students can lose themselves in as they read. I'm looking for books students will truly enjoy, and pick up themselves to read for fun.
