This year my school is switching to 1:1 Chromebooks, where each child will have an assigned laptop to use throughout the year. In the past, I鈥檝e noticed many students can鈥檛 afford bringing and maintaining their own computer accessories such as headphones which then leads to supply sharing. Due to recent events especially I want to provide each student a pair of headphones, labeled with their name, in a designated station. I foresee a sense of pride, excitement, and inclusion if, at the beginning of the year, their materials are displayed and labeled just for them!! It鈥檚 all about getting the kids hooked into learning and something so simple could be the reason they 鈥渂uy-in鈥 and excel. These items are important because there are listening components on diagnostic testing that students MUST hear to answer questions. The education software we use to reinforce learning has sounds, videos, and games all of which require headphones. Also, a large majority of my students are English Language Learners. They will greatly benefit from listening activities and language exposure! Thank you for considering our classroom needs!
