Having a safe space for after school activities is a critical component to urban education. Our students need outlets that keep them engaged positively and that teach them self relaxation and self care skills. By providing a creative arts maker space after school our students can form bonds with others, be in a safe environment outside school hours and allow them the creative outlet so many of today's students desperately need.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase a students well being but you will be giving them the gift of self care. Students will be able to simply focus on the learning new ways to relax while using their creativity to learn a new skill. Whether they l earn how to make blankets by crocheting, or weaving looms students will be able to focus for a few hours after school to self care during a time in their lives when they need it the most.
