These wobble stools will be used throughout the day by my busy students. They will have the opportunity to use the stools when pulled for small-groups during math and language arts, as well as during whole group instruction and when completing independent work. The chairs will be placed at our small group table, which is centrally located in the classroom and easily accessible during whole group instruction. This allows my students the choice of where to sit during a lesson, whether it be on the floor, their desk, or these wobble chairs.
This seating option will allow my students to release their energy while staying focused on their learning. Sitting for long periods is detrimental for mental and physical health. These chairs will allow my students to remain engaged in their learning while improving their posture, core strength, and balance. Furthermore, this seating option accommodates students who require more movement while learning and gives them additional options of where they want to learn. Having a choice will lead to increased engagement and ownership in my students learning.
