I want to be able to provide my students with a multitude of opportunities to access windows and mirrors through literature! I have selected books that represent a variety of individuals from different cultures, time periods, and ableness.
My goal is to show my students not only what the world has to offer them, but what they can offer the world. Representation and equity act as the foundation for my teaching pedagogy and inform everything the kids and I do in the classroom! In the list, I have also included some multicultural art supplies in this project because I want to make sure that none of my students feel that they are limited in their art. I want them to be proud of who they are and I believe that something as simple as a colored pencil or marker can make a world of a difference!
Thank you for helping me expand the worlds of my students!
