I have 18 students. 50 % of them are reading on grade level. Unfortunately, the other 50% are not. This project will help my students develop a love for reading because they will have brand new books to read from. They will be more excited about reading! Majority of my books are old, torn, and falling apart. I've been teaching for 11 years at this same school with the same books. It is overdue time for me to update my library and I'm hoping this project will help me do so. I want my students to love and enjoy reading. I also want them to get excited about taking ar test! Taking these tests will help students develop the comprehension skills needed to be successful in 3rd grade and help them prepare for the FSA.
