In today's world art is no longer a material-based process. Our students are surrounded by and constantly consuming digital art, and I would love to give them the opportunity to learn how to create it. The advertisements in the videos they watch, the video games they play, and animated movies they go see are all created digitally by an artist!
These students would love to get the chance to experiment with digital art; however, the art class does not have a class set of Chromebooks for them to work on. Research shows that technology in the classroom improves engagement, collaboration, and incorporates different learning styles to meet the needs of each individual student.
One project I look forward to having the students create is an advertisement on Adobe Spark for a product they have designed. They will learn about advertising, color theory, and typography, all of which can be utilized in their other classes when creating presentations. They will also learn the basics of Photoshop, animation, and how to curate a digital portfolio! I need your help to bring the digital world into my art room!
