I have just moved to a new school in a different state. I have no manipulatives at all in my new room. First graders need to be able to touch and visualize with manipulatives to understand concepts. My district purchased curriculum this year across all 4 subjects, but there is no money left for supplies. This project will provide counters, pattern blocks, tangrams, shape and color sorting opportunities, and many more hands on learning experiences. I added a few STEM type activities as well. The base 10 blocks are huge in understanding regrouping and borrowing. I will have 27 students to provide materials for.
