Providing these picture books will give the students more resources for sharing and during reading lessons. The students will be able to read and discuss themes in each of these picture books. The books can be rotated and used in partners. Once read, the students can create anchor charts with ideas to share with the class. The goal is to give the students every opportunity to read, discuss, and identify themes in a text. This is a very important skill that will be used in every grade and on every assessment they may take in the future. These books have a variety of themes to discuss.
