In my classroom, I focus on individual needs of students. I assess their progress in different areas and then every day we meet in small groups so students can work with material that is right at their level. This will allow every student to grow in their own individual way.
Currently, I do not have a functional place to teach my small groups. It is difficult for me to teach the 4-5 students at one time because we do not have a special table to sit at. During small group instruction, the rest of the class is doing independent centers. My small group instruction can impede their independent centers because I do not have an established place to teach the small groups.
With a functional space to teach my small groups, I know that my students would excel in every academic area.
