Music is an integral part of our everyday lives. It inherently makes us happy. Bringing music into the classroom not only makes for a joyous place to spend one's days, but it has been proven that students who practice music, academically outperform students who do not.
Giving my students the opportunity to learn and practice the ukulele will enhance academics, while also improving social-emotional skills. Along with benefiting reading and math scores, my students will gain confidence, build self-esteem, and become better communicators, all while having fun and learning a skill they can use for a lifetime.
I have found that teaching all subjects through the arts is successful and engaging. My students are learning in a way that keeps them asking more!
