Our 7th/8th-grade student-athletes are at a crucial developmental stage in their life. Not only are they developing physically but they are also learning who they are as young men. My job as a coach is to train them on and off the field. I want them to be respectful, responsible and prepare for whatever they may face in life.
A major part of my job requires that I keep them safe. In choosing to donate to my project you will be enabling me an opportunity to provide them with a fun, educational, and safe experience in this year's football season. Additionally, my student-athletes will benefit from resources like the football drill cards because I will use them to give the students voice and choice in practice. For example, instead of me calling out the drills, I will have the student-athlete of the week study, learn, and lead the drills in practice. This will not only give my student-athletes leadership skills but it will help them be successful on the field.
