Having a variety of chapter books at my students' disposal will help to foster a LOVE for reading. It is important for students to have choices in their reading. I researched the best books for my growing readers to dive into, and I chose a variety of genres and topics to reach all interest and reading levels. Helping students find that one book or series that they can identify with is crucial in establishing a love for reading. I am looking forward to seeing their excitement when deciding what book to dive into first! The first week of school, my second graders made it a goal to read 375 chapter books by the end of this school year. In order to meet this goal, it is important they have the books they need to make this happen!
