Picture books are an excellent way to teach our kids important skills. Our kids are more receptive to new ideas when we read about them first; this is especially true for social skills, which is a difficult concept for many young children to understand. Children don't often realize they are learning when reading.
My goal is to help my students grow up to be polite and respectful human beings. Children need to be taught the skills necessary to function in today's society.
The use of these books will help teach my kids how to appropriately interact with their peers, how to understand and regulate their emotions, and how to be successful throughout their life.
