My goal is to create a News Crew Club at our high school. Students will use their journalism skills to write newspaper stories and take pictures to go with them. A picture is worth a thousand words; therefore, students will need to take pictures with the camera.
Many students like to write, and I want to give them the opportunity to get published in the local newspaper. Students writing the articles and taking pictures will give information from the students' perspectives. There are a lot of great kids, teachers, staff, and families who do great things, so I want students to seek out the stories and write about them.
I also want students to feel the pride of being published writers and reporters.
