A carpet in my classroom will help us greatly in our classroom because we all need comfort to learn. Meeting together as a whole group with young learners makes learning more intimate and engaging, rather than sitting isolated at a desk. My students have to sit on a hard floor during math and reading lessons, and this can be a distraction. They can't sit as long and they are uncomfortable. They love listening to stories, talking to each other, and writing notes on our lessons. I know they would enjoy it so much more if they were on a carpet.
