These items are to help calm an overstimulated student while continuing to keep an academic focus. By providing a selection of games and puzzles my students are able to calm themselves, moderate their emotions, and make better choices.
With the use of Legos or a word search, a student can transform into a learner who is ready to expand their knowledge. In addition to academic skills, these activities will also be used for social skills, learning sharing and communication.
The Legos will help to teach reading instructions and assembly skills needed for some jobs. The board games will help with the communication and socialization skills.
