My focus for the 6th graders in music this year is to build their understanding of music theory and technique and apply it to the composition of original works. Ukuleles are an easy and effective tool for students to use as they compose their own songs. Plus they are just so fun to play! The 6th graders will showcase their projects to the students and parents of our school community at the end of the year. Mastering this year long project will solidify their knowledge of music and give them confidence to move forward into ensembles in jr. high and high school.
