Flexible seating is a way in which my students are able to move when needed yet help them stay on task and focused. Many students with autism need vestibular stimulation, and through these chairs, they will get it which means they will be able to attend better to the task at hand. I have seen amazing results in the area of ELA. Students lightly rock or bounce when reading or writing and the end product is often wonderful when they have the correct seating. I believe the ability to focus will help my students advance their reading and writing skills and will eventually help them easily integrate into general education classes in high school.
