We use these materials to make homeopathic rice bags. Students use these so they stay in class and not in the nurse's office. Students use patterns to cut fleece fabric. They sew their own rice bags, select a soothing scent for their bag then mix the oil with rice and fill their rice bags.
Students use these in class and at home. They heat them in the microwave then put them on whatever is causing their pain. Sore shoulder for the pitcher, sore knee for the sprinter, cramps, stress headaches. These can also be placed in the freezer and work as an ice pack.
Students learn to sew and they stay in the classroom instead of sitting in the nurse's office with a heating pad. Students can take care of themselves and continue learning. Students have also used their sewing skills to repair their uniform pants so they can attend classes without fail. These bags are also good to take the chill off when kids are riding the bus in the winter...they put them in their coat pockets and hold on to them.
