This library project is the beginning of not only offering students at an alternative education school site an opportunity to leisurely read titles of their choice. It's a conversation starter. When children come to the library, there is an opportunity to meet other students and discover potential connection points that may not have been otherwise available. It's also a chance for teachers to connect with not just their own students, but any student on campus, surrounding a shared interest in a book title or topic. These children are very much at risk for educational failure. A good book can literally motivate, teach and inspire a life.
