My students will be presented with real-world scenarios where they have to either create a solution to a problem or create something based on a desired outcome. In order to participate in these types of activities, students need resources that scientists, engineers, and mathematicians may use in their actual jobs.
Through STEM class, students will learn skills needed, not just for today, but for their futures in an ever-changing competitive world. With the tools/resources needed to conduct hands-on learning, my students will be able to experience situations and scenarios that they would not be able to by just reading a textbook. By having access to scales, graduated cylinders, storage jars, and other items, my students will have the tools needed to participate in real-world scenarios that they have to create solutions to. One activity will have my students measuring out different substances to find alternative solutions to a simulated problem that they are faced with.
