The math items I have requested will help my students have a better understanding of the skill being taught. Students will become more actively engaged in their own learning, and the new resources will help them to think and reason in more meaningful ways. The effective use of manipulatives can help students connect ideas and integrate their knowledge so they can gain a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Students need to be exposed to different learning manipulatives so that they can make connections with the concepts being taught. Having a wide range of manipulatives will help the students move through the three stages of learning: concrete stages, representational stage and abstract stage. These manipulatives will definitely help me provide the necessary tools to my students so that they can be successful in their learning.
