I am a first-year teacher aiming to build a large classroom library to engage students in reading. One of my focuses this year is providing different genres and reading levels to cover all students' interests and reading levels. I have been purchasing and collecting titles since I chose this amazing career. However, purchasing popular collections can be pricey and out of my and the school's budget, which is why I am asking for help. I believe that books are one of the most crucial resources in the classroom. Students being able to read books that they enjoy will, in turn, help them to improve all five components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. By improving on these five components, this will strengthen and increase their reading ability and level, which will help with homework, studying, testing, and help close the learning gap as they progress through their education.
