I have seen that the more opportunities a student has to write, the better their reading skills become. Because of the link between the two subjects, I would like to ignite a love of writing in my students by way of providing opportunities to publish their writing thus deepening their reading skills. My students will have the opportunity to create and publish student created books, poems, and narratives. It will allow them to showcase their unique voice in their pieces.
Because a large population of my students are second language learners, those students will have chances to develop not only writing in their native language, but also practice writing in their newly acquired language.
