My students regularly express an interest to learn about current events and what is going on in the world today. Almost daily I am asked if we can do current events activities. Through this feedback, I aim to incorporate these types of activities into my lesson plans. For this project I am requesting a subscription to Scholastic News magazine for kids that can supplement my current events activities. In addition, I am requesting general materials to help me run my classroom and to assist in created a welcoming learning community. By funding this project, you will be giving students an engaging opportunity into our world. Picturing the excitement of my students as they take part in activities from these magazines puts a smile on my face. These tools will help motivate and push my students to be the best that they could possibly be and create a positive and inclusive learning experience for all.
