The theme of our magnet school is based on Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence. Our school believes that children learn best through their own strengths. This project will allow my students to explore their Visual Spatial intelligence and Bodily Kinesthetic intelligence while growing their other intelligences. Children will be able to stand and paint on easels that will strengthen large muscles and in turn help with the fine motor skills. The benefits of painting are numerous for young children. Students will enhance letter, number and sight word "writing" by practicing in a fun and relaxing manner. This project will impact young learners who may not be ready for paper/pencil writing. Painting can also be used as a calming activity for students who may need to take a break.
