This project is for our MakerSpace center. A MakerSpace is filled with LEGO bricks, magnets, two computers, and building and STEAM materials for our bright students to access. I would like to have the Ozobots in this center as well. Ozobots will allow students to be introduced to coding and show creativity with what they are learning in the classroom. The Ozobots will be part of our 1st grade classroom's MakerSpace, a place where ALL students have access to materials. Students will have the ability to inquire and collaborate. Using the Ozobots, students will be able to explore technology concepts that they may not have been previously exposed to.
The Ozobots will provide opportunities to combine technology with the classroom curriculum.
Students can take their Ozobot on a tour of the Amazon Rain Forest, retell a story, travel through the life cycle of a butterfly, and practice math concepts such as geometry and measurement.
Each student in the class will have the opportunity in a small center group to use the Ozobots as they work collaboratively to inquire and solve problems.
