The reading corner I imagine for my students will be used as a comfortable space in the classroom for children to sit and read. It will also be a place where they can utilize flexible seating for those who have trouble sitting for long periods of time. This will benefit my students who have attention deficit issues and those who are just having a moment where they need personal space before engaging the lesson.
The ELA classroom must remain fun, creative, innovative and accessible to ALL. Our reading corner will feature soft lighting, word games, a lap desk and an alternative to traditional metal/wood chairs and tables. The goal is to offer balance while inspiring diversity and choice which are what we know free thinkers and leaders are made from. Thank you for supporting my students' success!
