The various materials selected in this project will allow children the opportunity to engage in meaningful play while building their language skills.
Children need the opportunity to choose their materials and we can still support their learning by being intentional with the materials they choose from.
These materials will allow my students to engage the whole brain with play based learning. Their unstructured play will be facilitated by teaching staff to grow their vocabulary as they retell stories with the storyboard kits, build structures with the Magna-Tiles and discuss differences using the Block People. They'll share their vision and experiences as they paint, complete puzzles of community helpers and engage in the phonics based letter stampers and Phonics Train.
