In my class, we move around a lot. I teach elementary Science and sometimes a chair and a desk just isn't ideal. We work in small groups and also have a quiet corner for independent learners. The students will use the furniture to freely move about the room and have a place to work without being restricted to the traditional desk and chair. Students may be collaborating on a video presentation or creating an informational poster, or maybe shared partner reading. This project is about giving students the freedom of choice.
Students are motivated by options and choice! Sometimes the simplest of things (like a choice in seating) can be motivating to a student.
