The goal is to give students as many options as possible during the school day. These seating options will be a hit with students that love that special feeling of sitting tall in the room. This is the third year that I have given the student seating choices. The lower-cost options are just not standing up to the sitting habits of 5th graders.
Students are active sitters. Even when they don't mean to, students shift and wiggle in the chairs. What can be found at yard sales are not the heavy-duty seating options that are needed in the classroom. These 10 and 11-year-olds love that they are the big cheeses in the building.
