Most of my students' families are economically challenged and do not have books at home or can not read themselves. Therefore, my students are not being read to at home. I feel it is the school's responsibility to provide our students with this exposure.
My students love hearing me read stories and I love reading to them. However, I find myself wishing I had some of the books I am requesting to read to them. Most of the books I read to them, they try to read on their own. What a great feeling this is for me!
